Is Your Energy Making You Sick? Understanding the Link Between Energy, Illness, and Healing

Updated: Jul 5

Six years ago, I started my health journey with one goal: I wanted to lose weight. That was it. Look better and feel better. But what started with calories and workouts turned into something much deeper. Now I can honestly say I feel the magic of every particle in my body. I am aware it might sound cringe to some, it used to sound that way to me too. But here’s the thing: experience teaches in a way that words never can. I’ve lived it. So have my clients and many others.

Over the years, the way I understand health has changed completely. At first, it was all about appearance. Then I got into nutrition, hormones, nervous system regulation. Now I’m at a point where talking about health only from the physical side feels… incomplete. Energy is so much more than that. Let me remind you, everything is made of energy. And I’m starting to believe that unwellness starts with stuck, blocked, or misdirected energy, long before anything physical shows up.

Let’s talk about that.

What Is Energy in the Body and How Does It Affect Your Health?

We all know the basics: food gives us energy. The mitochondria in our cells convert that food into fuel. Movement, sleep, stress, all of that impacts how much energy we have. If you’re not eating real food or resting properly, your body can’t make energy. Period.

But what actually is energy? Einstein said energy can’t be created or destroyed, it can only be changed. Which means energy is infinite. It’s not about whether you have it, it’s about where it’s going, how it's blocked, or how it's being wasted.

“Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be transformed.” – Einstein

Energy or Illness - Which Comes First?

There’s an idea that hit me hard: what if energy gets sick before the body does? Some practitioners and researchers have observed imbalances in the energetic field of an organ before any physical symptoms show up. It’s not mainstream science yet, but it makes sense, and we keep seeing glimpses of it, one story at a time. The body whispers in energy before it screams in symptoms.

Science is starting to catch on. Psychoneuroimmunology shows how thoughts, stress, and emotions impact the immune system. Trauma research, like the ACE study, links childhood wounds to adult diseases such as cancer, heart issues, autoimmunity, and even addiction.

It all points to the same thing: energy comes first. Emotional patterns, stress, escapism, they don’t just disappear. They leave a mark. Your body becomes a printout of everything you haven’t addressed.

How Stuck Energy Creates Physical Symptoms

You’ve felt it before - tight shoulders when you’re stressed, a lump in your throat when you’re holding back tears, a heavy chest when anxiety takes over. That’s energy. That’s your body trying to talk.

Imagine holding a volleyball underwater. It takes effort, right? That’s what happens when you hold emotions or energy that want to come up. It’s exhausting and takes a lot of energy to keep it down.

Over time, all that held-in energy gets trapped in your tissues and organs. It’s like a traffic jam in your nervous system. Blood flow slows, inflammation starts, and dis-ease begins.

Your nervous system remembers everything, it keeps score. Trauma expert Dr. Bessel van der Kolk talks about this in his book. If you don’t release and transform that stuck energy, it stays with you. Eventually, it shows up as physical symptoms.

Awareness Is Step One to Healing Your Energy

You can’t heal what you’re not noticing

First: awareness. You can’t heal what you’re not noticing. Get quiet enough to hear what your body’s saying. Clear the noise - food, habits, thoughts, distractions. The clearer you get, the more connected you feel.

You start to notice how your thoughts change your breath. How your breath affects your gut. How your gut shifts your mood. It’s all connected.

Then comes the mind. Not just mental health, but mental fitness. You’re not just “fine” or “not fine.” Every day, you’re either moving toward health or away from it, depending on what you feed your body, mind, and energy.

As you slow down and tune in, you’ll feel it - the tight spots, the tension, the “off” parts. That’s stuck energy. That’s emotion your body held onto. If you don’t face it, your body holds it until you have no choice but to listen.

Can Your Subconscious Create Illness? (And Wellness?)

Most people live in reaction mode. Their subconscious is shaped by past experiences, conditioning, trauma, and beliefs, so it runs the show and it’s always creating, even without our awareness.

Maybe illness doesn’t just happen to us. Maybe, in some way, we co-create it. Not because we’re broken, but because we’re disconnected. We’ve been trained to ignore what’s going on inside and focus only on what’s outside. But if that’s true, it also means the opposite is possible. We can create wellness. We’re not stuck with bad genes or doomed by age.

Once you learn to work with your energy, your subconscious, and your body’s signals, healing becomes possible.

Even doctors have those “miracle” cases they can’t explain. Spontaneous remissions, symptoms disappearing without treatment. Is it magic? Or just a kind of science we don’t fully understand yet? Researchers like Joe Dispenza and Bruce Lipton are connecting the dots, showing how elevated emotions, belief, and mental rewiring can lead to real, measurable healing. The idea that your thoughts and energy affect your physiology isn’t just spiritual talk anymore.

The gap between ancient wisdom and modern science is finally starting to close. And that’s exciting.
Your Energy Is Your Power. Start Paying Attention

This blog isn’t me pretending to be a guru. I’m just sharing what I’m learning as I go. I feel like I’m on a mission now to learn and fully understand energy and the role it plays in our lives and how we’re in control of shaping it. Not just to be healthy, but to remember who we are as humans and what we’re capable of. To reconnect with our energy, our frequency, our power.

And I want you to know: this is possible for you too.

We’re not here to just survive. We’re here to live fully, vibrantly, wildly. Ignorance isn’t bliss, it’s a slow drain on your life force. Staying closed-minded robs you of your potential.

Your healing. Your superpowers.

So consider this an invitation to explore, to get curious, to evolve. You don’t have to believe anything right now. Just start paying attention. Start listening and observing. Quietly, in your own time and space.

That’s where the real healing begins.
